2023 GANZ HORN Riesling GG
Flinty/fumy notes linger into the zesty freshness of kumquat and grapefruit. Sleek concentration and focused, stony momentum. Taut and racy at this youthful stage, with a mouth-watering bitterness on the lingering finish. Still quite closed but a beautiful wine given time. (PS)

2023 IM SONNENSCHEIN Weißer Burgunder GG
Fresh white blossom and apple peel, delicate herbal nuances. Deep, juicy concentration, nearly sinewy compared with the standard soft Pinot Blanc. Lithe and focused with appealing, bitter grace notes. Moderate acidity and pure rock-salt finish. (PS)

2023 IM SONNENSCHEIN Riesling GG
Ripe mirabelle, apple and kumquat. Fleshy lemon fruit and herbal undercurrents propel the juicy wine across the palate. A rushing river of salt, stone, citrus and spirited grace. (PS)

2023 Birkweiler Riesling vom Rotliegenden trocken
Again, there’s a strong smell of yeast still! As in the Siebeldinger vom Buntsandstein. Pungent and broad. Very mineral. For modernists. (JR)

2023 Siebeldingen Riesling vom Muschelkalk trocken
Softer, gentler than the Birkweiler vom Rotliegenden. Something recalls some Asian cuisine (sorry not to be more precise!). Interesting wine. (JR)

2023 Burrweiler Riesling vom Schiefer trocken
Ortswein. Young vines from a Grosse Lage site on black slate.
Really racy and juicy. That saliva effect again, like the Siebeldinger vom Buntsandstein.

2023 MANDELBERG Weißer Burgunder GG

Perhaps it's the name but I swear there are notes of almond blossom on the delicate, floral nose. Crisp apple, lemon and a fine, peppery spice. Elegant and chiselled, with balanced acidity, and focused, fine-boned phenolics. (PS)

2023 Siebeldingen Riesling vom Buntsandstein trocken
Ortswein. They use their own selected yeast from the vineyard, one of four selected. Young vines from a Grosse Lage site.
Still very youthful with some fermentation aromas evident. Very cool and salivatory but not concentrated. Savoury, dry finish.

2023 Muskateller trocken
Richly aromatic but with so much more than a nose; the palate is characterful, too! Finishes bone dry with quite a bit of acidity but I could really see this being a hit in hospitality. (JR)
